My journey to Chess started with the support from my father Mr. Shafeek. He gave me the basic lessons, played with me, taught me the moves and strategies and gave me opportunities to take part in different competitions.
When I look back to the chess journey that started when I was as young as 4
years, the real spirit was filled in me with a single incident that happened at Straightpath. When I won the medals in a District Chess championship, my school, including teachers and students, honoured me in the assembly and presented the awards to me. That in fact gave me the sense of achievement and recognition and ever since then I wanted nothing but focus on chess.
I have participated in umpteen numbers of tournaments and competitions and won many prizes and awards including youngest player award. Straightpath has been giving me the right coaching and motivation to take my own further moves in chess. The immediate goal in front of me is to be a rated player by FIDE and in the long term I want to represent our country in international chess tournaments.
